Multi-mode rendering is a powerful feature that enables you to combine two or more volume-rendered images into one. For example, this video shows a combination of
shaded volume rendering and
maximum intensity projection.
There are no requirements that the images being combined come from the same volume(s), allowing the combination of different volumes or even different modalities, such as for PET / CT fusion. This is extremely useful when developing applications that need to visualize functional data within the context of structural data.
