This video shows some of the more advanced uses of the SDK’s embedded geometry capability:
- The green mesh corresponding to the mouth and nose was generated using the Marching Cubes implementation that is included in the Toolbox. This allows you to specify the surface you wish to extract by means of an isovalue. The rest is taken care of automatically. This feature can be extremely useful to export data for use in other 3D packages, or to make physical models.
- Meshes can have per-vertex colors (as shown on the torus) or even full texture mapping. The SDK can directly load meshes that have been specified in Microsoft’s DirectX mesh format, making it simple to create and import models into you application.
